Payment of Existence
This vast shadowlands was once called Relocation Camp 17. After the Ursurpation, the new kings of Creation were faced with the problem of what to do with the Solar’s living creations. Their answer? Internment, slavery, and eventual genocide.
Anjei Marama was the only Dragon-Blooded who truly enjoyed the work she did, and her brutal pogroms caused the birth of a shadowlands at Camp 17. But it was of a small, manageable size until the Contagion. It completely wiped out the camp, and made the Fell the largest shadowlands in the North. Consequently, it has attracted a lot of attention from outside parties, not the least of which is Lover Clad in the Raiment of Tears.
Politically, the land is fractured, with street gangs and makeshift tribes each claiming small territories. Recently, Thrice-Dead Achiba has begun to consolidate the shadowlands, and for the first time ever, Marama’s Fell might be under the sway of a single ruler. Other notable factions, all opposed to Achiba’s victory, include Tel’Oran and his beastmen, a protectorate of gangs called the Vinthar Alliance, and the enigmatic Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty.
